Who are we?
Solas Mind are a wellbeing support service, offering support to individuals and also companies predominantly in the creative sector. We are the go-to mental health company in film and tv. Providing bespoke support for studios, crew, productions and freelancers.
Who are we for?
Anyone who needs support. We offer online counselling and coaching so can see people based worldwide. However, we are unable to help with acute psychiatric or suicidal crises. Contact the emergency services or www.samaritans.org or telephone them on 116 123 (UK) if there is a mental health crisis. If you are being supported by Community Mental Health Services or receiving treatment for acute mental health issues, please do speak in the first instance to the relevant agency for advice and further support.
How are fees paid?

What is our cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend your appointment please let us know as soon as possible. 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations. Where there is less notice, or you fail to attend your appointment, the fee for that session will be incurred and the session counted.
We will endeavour to give you as much advance notice as possible in terms of holidays or of any need to cancel a future appointment. In case of unforeseen situations which result in you being late, we will allow at least 20 minutes for you to turn up if you have not contacted us. When you arrive, the session will end at the normal time and you will be charged the full fee.
What is our privacy policy?
In order to get the maximum benefit from our work together, it is important that we establish a contract that covers confidentiality, time-keeping, emergency procedures and the code of ethics we abide by. We will discuss this at your first appointment.
How do we ensure a code of ethics?
Solas Mind practitioners are fully qualified and registered members of an Industry body in their country, such as the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) UKCP, HCPC, NCS or ICF and abide by their code of ethics.
How do we handle confidentiality?
As qualified practitioners, we are ethically required to protect your confidentiality. Everything you choose to share with us during our sessions is confidential and is not disclosed to third parties. However, there are some legal exceptions to your right to confidentiality: these are a couple - if we believe you are at risk of causing serious harm to yourself or others, we must inform the relevant authorities. If we receive information from you regarding ongoing abuse towards a child or a vulnerable adult, we will be forced to break confidentiality. When possible, we will inform you before any action is taken.
Are our practitioners supervised regularly?
All practitioners are required to have regular supervision to ensure that they ensure the best level of care. While they may discuss specific clients with a supervisor, they protect anonymity by withholding names and any other identifying details.
What is our emergency procedure?
If, during a session, we feel that you are in need of emergency support, we may ask your permission to contact your GP or next of kin whose details we received at the time of booking.
What is our code of conduct?
While wellbeing support sessions provide the space for clients to work through difficult feelings and emotions, our team will not accept threatening or abusive behaviour.  Such behaviour may result in the session ending and the client being liable for the full session fee. Future sessions may be cancelled.
We ask that you do not attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
What is our social media policy?
We do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site in order to protect your confidentiality and to keep the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship.
How do we handle data protection?
All the Solas Mind team in the UK are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) . The worldwide team have their own privacy and data protection policy which covers how they control, process and keep your personal data.
What is our termination policy?
We will not suddenly or without warning terminate our contract, except in exceptional circumstances, which would become clear in the course of our work together. This would be fully discussed at that time. Please note any threats or acts of violence will invalidate this agreement and counselling will cease. Sessions will not take place if you arrive under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed medication. Corporate funded sessions will end after the agreed allocation has been reached.
