Become a Mental Health First Aider

This online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you an in-depth understanding of mental health

and the factors that can affect wellbeing.

COurse content

Each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan with learning taking place through four live training sessions, with self-study activities in between. 

We limit numbers to 16 per course so that the trainer can keep people safe and supported while they learn.

You will learn:

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support.

Supporting materials

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider

  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it

  • A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan

  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health


Become Mental Health AWARE

This online course raises awareness of mental health ands aims to reduce the stigma around it. 

You will learn:

  • What mental health is and how to challenge stigma

  • Knowledge of some common mental health issues

  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing

  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

COurse content

This is a half day course delivered either face to face or online

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities

We limit numbers to 25 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn

mental health Awareness for HODS/Managers

The challenges of filming schedules, post Covid-19 anxiety and fear, post-traumatic stress, demanding work schedules, adapting to new filming practices, social distancing will have a large impact on mental health. The session will increase the awareness and understanding around mental health and will help managers to recognise the signs and offer support to people suffering from mental distress in the workplace and in the community.
